In a dramatic late-night rescue, a young woman was pulled from the brink of tragedy after attempting to jump off a pedestrian overpass on Sukhumvit Road in Central Pattaya.
The heart-stopping incident unfolded just after midnight at 12.16am yesterday, April 24, when the Pattaya Rescue Centre received a frantic call from a concerned passerby.
A distressed woman, believed to be between 25 and 30 years old, was spotted standing dangerously close to the edge of the bridge, ready to leap.
Emergency responders, including police officers and rescue volunteers, rushed to the scene. However, when they arrived, they found that a group of Good Samaritans had already taken brave action.

The quick-thinking citizens managed to grab hold of the woman just in time, pulling her back from the edge and preventing what could have been a devastating fall.
The woman, described as well-groomed and neatly dressed, was in a highly emotional state, sobbing uncontrollably.
Despite attempts to comfort her, she refused to speak or explain her actions. Officials gently guided her down from the bridge and ensured she was safe.
Shortly after, her friends and boyfriend were contacted. They informed police that she had been battling depression and had frequently expressed feelings of sadness and frustration, especially concerning her romantic relationship.
Although they had offered emotional support, they admitted they never anticipated she might try to take her own life, reported Pattaya Mail.
Thanks to the swift actions of a concerned citizen and the compassion of strangers on the scene, a life was spared. The woman will now receive the medical and psychological support she urgently needs.
This near-tragedy serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of mental health awareness and the impact of timely intervention. Officers praised those who acted without hesitation, urging the public to continue looking out for each other.
